With Keisha Hutchins Hirlinger, singer-songwriter, music educator, and social justice advocate

In conjunction with Soul, Sound, and Voice: The Art of Jerry Pinkney

Join us in a family-friendly, community concert inspired by Jerry Pinkney’s art and retelling of The Little Mermaid.

Together, we will explore how to use our voices for GOOD, just like the characters of Melody and Zion, the names used in Pinkney’s story.

How can we be an upstander when we see something that isn’t right?
How can we find the courage to stand up for ourselves or others, even when it feels hard?
How can we be a supportive friend who is kind like Zion is to Melody?

Through singing, dancing, and community-building, we will learn about the many ways we can use our voices for good. We will sing songs of kindness, friendship, courage, love, and empathy and share the fun of moving, connecting, and celebrating together —with a large dose of JOY! Bring your voices, dance moves, and curiosity, and let’s make music and magic as a community!
