Curtis at Woodmere: Elissa Lee Koljonen, Violin
Acclaimed violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen brings expressive depth and virtuosic brilliance to a program spanning centuries of musical tradition, from Bach’s monumental Chaconne to the spirited Wild Fiddler’s Rag. In conversation with Moe Brooker’s vibrant visual art, the recital explores the interplay of structure, color, rhythm, and improvisation. Like the music on this program, Brooker’s art bridges tradition and innovation, finding unexpected connections between diverse influences and celebrating the expressive possibilities of a richly individual voice.
